GOUNI Celebrates 17 Years of Grace and Excellence
The Directorate of Competitions was honoured as its students received recognition for outstanding achievements in regional and national contests. This celebration not only marked 17 years of growth and grace but also reaffirmed the university’s enduring commitment to nurturing talent, character, and academic distinction.

Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, marked its 17th Foundation Day with gratitude and renewed dedication to excellence.
The colourful event at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Convocation Arena brought together students, staff, alumni, and friends of the university to celebrate 17 years of faith, growth, and impact.
The Directorate of Competitions was specially recognized as several of its outstanding students received awards for their exceptional performances in regional and national contests. Among them were Egbogu Favour Ogechukwu, Aguigwo Gerald Somtochukwu, and Adibo Tiffany, whose achievements continue to project the university’s commitment to academic and intellectual excellence.
The Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Christian Anieke, described the university’s journey as “miraculous,” emphasizing that God’s purpose has guided every milestone. The event also celebrated the remarkable academic feat of students with perfect CGPAs, including Ekwe Princess Chinyere, who emerged as Vice Chancellor for One Day.
As the university reflects on 17 years of progress, the Directorate of Competitions remains steadfast in nurturing talent and promoting the culture of excellence that defines Godfrey Okoye University.
