GOUNI Secures 1.5 Million Naira Cash Prize and National Honours at CIPM Conference in Abuja!

Centered on the theme "Repositioning for Value and Impact," the prestigious gathering drew over 5,000 delegates, industry leaders, and top public officials from across Africa.

The high point of the summit featured Team GOUNI's stellar scholars from the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Success Amolo and Princess Ekwe, taking center stage to receive 1.5 million Naira cash prize and a national award on behalf of Godfrey Okoye University after emerging First Runner-Up in the highly competitive National CIPM Quiz Competition.

The achievement also earned the delegates an all-expense-paid trip to the flagship continental conference.

GOUNI’s road to the national podium began as dominant regional champions of the South-East, advancing to compete against fellow regional leaders drawn from 43 tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Following an intense, high-stakes competition, the final victory was decided in a thrilling tie-breaker round against Benson Idahosa University. The awards segment also celebrated winners of the CIPM Essay Category, including the University of Benin, University of Jos, and University of Ibadan.

The grand opening ceremony was officially declared open by the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, alongside an assembly of distinguished dignitaries. Present at the landmark event were the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Civil Service Commission, the President of the National Industrial Court, Representatives of the Lagos and Kano State Governors, the Heads of Service for Lagos, Ondo, and Edo States, alongside prominent captains of industry.
